As a part of the SAS Group, SAS Sweden is the leading airline company in Northern Europe. In the past few years, SAS Sweden has encountered many problems, mostly concerning strikes among the cabin personnel and economical difficulties stemming from the company's incapacity to fill its planes as much as it had hoped to. As a result, decision has been made - following discussions with the trade union concerned (The Union: www.unionen.se) and SAS Sweden management - to cut 200 cabin jobs in 2009.
