European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Jitona, the largest Czech furniture manufacturer, has announced the closure of one of its manufacturing sites in Rousínov, with the loss of all the 247 jobs by the end of July 2007. The closure is due to the company’s difficulties with exporting their products because of the unfavourable strong CZK exchange rate. About 1,300 people are currently employed at Jitona’s four sites in the Czech Republic.
