Description
3M, the American multinational conglomerate, has announced that it is to cut 185 jobs at its plant in Gorseinon, Swansea. A further 27 jobs are also under review. The fact that the plant had an uncertain future was first announced in January 2008 and a 90 day consultation period has been completed. A further consultation period will now start to agree how to achieve the job cuts over the next 14 months. The trade union at the site UNITE has said that it is concerned about the announced job losses and committed to supporting and protecting its members.
