Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
On 10 April 2008, Uniplet, a Czech hosiery knitting machines producer, announced that it is to cut 138 jobs at its Třebíč site by the end of June 2008. The job losses were attributable to difficulties with export activities due to the gradual increase of the CZK exchange rate. The site employed at that time 360 workers
On 9 September 2008, the company reported a further 95 job losses to be implemented during October and November 2008.
