European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Huawei Technologies is a Chinese company producing cell phone and broadband systems. Its Swedish affiliate has existed since 2001 and is now a major competitor to the Swedish main actor on this market, Ericsson. Huawei Sweden is now planning to double its labor force from 120 to 240 employees before the end of the year. The increase in personnel will mainly affect the R&D-department of the company. According to the R&D president Urban Fagerstedt, this is due to “the Swedish department being a successful part of the international company and therefore allowed to expand”.
