Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Danish Crown, a Danish multinational abbatoir, has announced that it is to cut 450 jobs by closing the abbatoir in Skive employing 300 and the deboning facilities in Hurup (Northern Jutland) employing another 150. The two departments are expected to be closed down in June 2008. The employees' representative, the union NNF and Danish Crown have in common set up a job bank to help redundant employees to find new jobs within Danish Crown's other abbatoirs or other companies.
