Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Daedong, a Korean producer of tractors, rice transplanters, power tillers and engines, has announced that it is to create 200 new jobs following the development of a brake line factory in Cieszyn (south of Poland) which will supply the automobile plants of Kia and Hyundai. The factory will begin operations with 100 employees; another 100 jobs will be created by late 2009. As of February 2008, there is no information as to when employment at the new factory will commence.
