Description
Gem, a call centre firm that operates in Belfast, has announced that it is to create 100 new jobs at its Belfast site. Gem provides services to several multi-national groups, and the announcement of the creation of the new jobs follows Gem concluding a new contract with Perlico, a subsidiary of Vodafone. Philip Cassidy, the Chief Executive Officer of Gem, said that the new jobs were 'not only a positive demonstration of the company's confidence in the skills and capabilities of Gem's workforce, but also Northern Ireland's ability to attract quality inward investment.'
Gem also announced the creation of 500 new jobs at its Belfast site in October 2007 (see related fact sheet). As of February 2008, there is no information on when the 100 new jobs will be created by or the number employed at Gem's Belfast site.
