Description

The French ski maker Salomon, which is part of Finnish group Amer Sports, has announced that it is to cut 284 jobs in France between February and December 2008. This will be the third redundancy plan in three years at Salomon. In December 2008, the production of skis at company's site in Rumilly in Haute-Savoie will end, and all Salomon skis will then be manufactured outside France, in Romania, Bulgaria and Austria. The Rumilly site will be converted by the Amer Sports Group to the production of of wheels for Mavic bicycles (employing 116 people).
