The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Maersk Line, the Danish multinational container shipping line which is part of the A.P. Moller-Maersk Group, announced 8 January 2008 that 2000-3000 jobs will be cut by April 2008. Mainly mid-level managers at world wide level will be affected by the redundancies. None or very few of the job cuts will occur in Denmark.
Maersk Line has issued the restructuring plan for the shipping line involving the redundancies to face some difficulties after the take over of Nedloyd.
