Description
Holmen-koncernen, a group that operates in the pulp and paper sector, has announced that it is to cut 100 jobs at its subsidiary Holmen Paper in Sweden (Hallsta: 40 jobs, Wargön: 20 jobs, Braviken: 40 jobs). In the light of latest developments, the number of job losses at the Hallstavik plant has increased to 250-300.
The job losses are due to high prices for energy, recycling paper and pulp. Holmen-koncernen has also announced that it is to create 140 new jobs at its subsidiary Holmen Timber AB in Sweden. The job creation is a result of the construction of a new sawmill that will involve an investment of 1000 million SEK. Holmen-koncernen employs 3040 in Sweden.
