Description

French residential joinery and PVC locking specialist Ternois Fermetures has announced that it has acquired a factory to the south of Lille in Wavrin, northern France, as it looks to take the step from regional company to national player.

It plans to invest 8 millions euros in the plant by 2010, transforming it from a printworks into an aluminium locking site. Aluminium products currently represent just 20 per cent of Ternois Fermetures' annual revenues, but it is a fast-growing sector.

Ternois Fermetures employs nearly 260 workers. The group has a target to create 140 additional jobs by 2010. Part of the new workers will be engaged in the production of aluminium and PVC profiles, while the rest will have administrative duties.

Ternois Fermetures ended 2007 with a revenue of 24 millions euros up by 20 per cent on the year. The group expects to register a 25 per cent sales growth in 2008.
