Description
Reid Transport Ltd, a haulage firm, has announced the closure of its Ballymena site with the loss of approximately 200 jobs. The announcement of the job losses follows the firm entering administration, and the dismissals took effect from 21st November 2007, the day of the announcement of the job losses. The firm has stated that it will make efforts to secure redundancy payments for affected employees by the end of 2007. Gareth Callow, an official from the administrating firm PricewaterhouseCoopers, stated that the failure of the administrators to find a buyer for the firm had meant that the redundancies were inevitable.
