European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Rockwool, a firm that produces wool insulation, has announced that it is to create 110 new jobs at its site in Pencoed by April 2008. The firm, which currently employs 440 at the site, has said that a 70 million GBP investment will be made in the plant and that the capacity of the factory will double. A spokeswoman for the firm has stated that demand for the company's stone wool insulation products had 'soared' because of increasing demand for sustainable building and manufacturing, and concerns over fire safety. The new jobs that will be created will include skilled positions such as production operators and a range of technical, supervisory and managerial jobs. The firm has also stated that it is keen to see more women apply for the new positions given the current gender balance at the plant.
