Description
Total Marketing France, the marketing division of the French oil producer Total, has announced that it is to cut between 177 and 244 jobs at its three sites in France. The affected sites are Nanterre, Nantes, and Lyon, and the job losses will be implemented between January 2008 and December 2009. Total Marketing France employs 1,500 in France. The Chief Executive Officer of the firm has stated that the job losses are attributable to the need for the firm to cut costs. In another development, the Chief Executive Officer has stated that the firm will also create 22 new jobs. The works council of Total Marketing France has said that an agreement on the restructuring will be negotiated before the end of 2007.
