Description
London General Insurance, a firm that operates in the insurance sector, is to move a call centre facility from Harrow to the Forest of Dean with the creation of 250 jobs in the Forest of Dean. The firm will invest 4 million GBP in the location. As of September 2007, there is no information on the number of jobs that may be lost in Harrow. Ian Kenny, Operations Director of the firm, stated that the firm desired to remain in the UK rather than ‘offshore’ the call centre jobs abroad. Mr. Kenny also stated that the jobs that would be advertised at the site would include positions for call centre staff, team leaders, I.T. workers, and senior managers.
