Description

Easyjet, the British low-cost airline firm, has announced that it is to open a new base of operations in Barajas Airport in Madrid that will create 423 new jobs. The new base will give Easyjet a greater presence within Spain. The new development has been particularly encouraged by the Madrid regional administration who have attempted to promote investment by low-cost airliners within the region. In turn, the development of tourism within Madrid over the past few years was a key factor in Easyjet’s decision to invest in Madrid. Easyjet's new Madrid base is due to open on February 15th 2007.
