Motorola, a firm that produces mobile phones, is to cut 650 jobs at its site in Flensburg at which it employs 850. Part of the production at the Flensburg plant, mainly consisting of logistical services, is to be outsourced to Motorola's site in Alsdorf due to financial pressures the firm is facing. The Canadian group Cinram will also take over some logistical and distribution functions for Motorola. Motorola has also announced that every affected employee at the Flensburg site will be offered a position at Alsdorf.
