Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Ideal Standard Vidima, a Bulgarian group that produces sanitary reinforcement equipment for bathrooms and kitchens, is to create 200 jobs in Levski and Gorna Orijahovitza with the opening of two new sites at which sanitary fittings will be grinded and polished. The investment in the new sites is expected to come to about 400,000 BGN. The group’s executive director, Mr. Krassimir Kopchev, has stated that the firm has decided to invest outside the town in which their headquarters is based, Sevlievo, because of a lack of appropriately skilled workers in the area. The group has established that suitable workers exist in the regions in which the new sites are to be based, and will also provide training courses for the new employees.
