Atria Group, a Finnish producer of meat products, intends to close the meat processing plant Vilniaus Mesa in Lithuania because it is not profitable. The market share of Vilniaus mesa constitutes only 3 percent of total meat products market in Lithuania. According to the firm, the plant will be closed by the end of August, 2007 and 139 employees, working in the plant, will be dismissed. The closedown of the plant will cost about 7 million LTL to the Atria group.
