Description

The Spanish division of the German international corporation Robert Bosch, a manufacturer of automobile components, announced in February 2007 its intention to cease activity in one of its plants by January 2009, the Gasoline Systems division based in Alcalá de Henares, with a current staff of 417 employees. Bosch Spain is planning to relocate part of this plant workforce, 250 employees, to its factory in Aranjuez (with 241 current employees). However, this measure is conditioned to agreements with trade unions on the competitiveness of the product. Furthermore, the German corporation is seeking to implement 'socially supportable' measures, with the elaboration of an Early Retirement Programme for the remaining workers affected by the restructuring.
