Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Italian Magneti Marelli Sistemi Elettronici, an important subcontractor of Fiat, has announced that it is to create up to 600 new jobs by developing a new production plant in Kechnec industrial park (East Slovakia). The Greenfield investment will amount to more than 300 million SKK and production is planned to start in mid 2009. Final electronic systems for motor vehicles will be assembled there from imported components and full production capacity is expected to be reached in 2011.
According to recent information, company management decided to extend the planned investment by also building a R&D unit there. The value of the investment will increase to SKK 1.2 billion. Number of additional new jobs was not yet announced, however, about 30% of them will demand employees with university education.
