Description
Siemens Österreich electrical is planning to cut 75 jobs at its production site in Siegendorf, Burgenland. The company argues that a downward trend in prices of electronic components of household appliances during recent years would render job reductions inevitable in order to secure the plant in the long run. The production plant in Siegendorf currently employs about 300 workers, part of them temporary agency workers. By the end of 2007, 50 regular employees and 25 agency workers stand to lose their jobs.
