Description

French car equipment manufacturer Chausson Outillage, in liquidation since March 2007, announced its closure on 3 May 2007. The commercial court of Rheims, near Paris, announced that it rejected the repurchase proposal submitted by the Indian group Neel Metal Product Ltd. and French company GM Investissements. The court considered the conditions to be insufficient and decided that the company would have to stop its activity on 31 May 2007. This is the deadline for the company to negotiate a social plan for the 184 employees. In 2004, Chausson Outillage announced a restructuring programme which regarded the loss of 80 jobs, but the employees rejected this plan in autumn 2004.
