Description

Rimi Food Eesti is a store chain that offers food and primary goods, also some garments, cosmetics and electronic devices. Rimi Food Eesti is part of Baltic food chain company Rimi Baltic AB and it is owned by ICA Group in Sweden. Altogether there are 205 stores employing 9,132 employees in the three Baltic States.

A lack of employees leads the Estonian store chain launch an extensive campaign which aims at hiring 50 to 100 employees to customer service. The goal is to improve the prestige of the work of customer service in service sector and generally in the society. Low status of the salespersons and other customer service employees is said to be one reason for a lack of workforce in the sector and the shortage is predicted to become worse in few years.

Until the end of May the advertisements on television will show ordinary shop assistants at work. During the campaign 20 people of the directorate of Rimi Eesti Food work for a day as shop assistants and every customer service worker can spend a day accompanying one of the top managers.
