Description

According to an announcement made by The European Metalworkers’ Federation (EMF), General Motors, the American automobile company is planning to cut 4,500 jobs in Europe until 2010. The Saab factory in Trollhättan is one of the affected sites where 1,400 jobs are planned to be cut, according to EMF. Today around 93% of Saab Automobile's employees work at their site in Trollhättan.

However, according to the Swedish metal union IF Metall at Saab in Trollhättan, this has not been confirmed yet and the calculated job reductions are based on a worst-case scenario.
