Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Falck Baltics that resides in Estonia is formed of Falck Eesti, Falck Apsargs and Falck Security that operate accordingly in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. Since 2004 the security concern Falck Baltics is owned by Group 4 Securicor which forms the largest global network of security operations worldwide. Falck Eesti itself is a group of seven different legal entities operating all over Estonia besides smaller islands. With an Estonian security services market share of 49 % Falck Eesti is the leading company of security services employing about 4000 people all over Estonia.
In April 2007 the company launched a new employment campaign offering a bonus (or prize) of 2000 EEK (128 Euro) to every employee who will be hired during the campaign. Hoping to hire 200 new employees all over Estonia by the end of April, Falck Eesti is the first company in Estonia using money to draw attention to vacancies. Also the employees already working at Falck Eesti can receive bonuses for recommending potential employees to the company. Falck Eesti experiences a lack of labour force like most large enterprises in Estonia that is why attractive and innovative employment campaigns are valued.
