European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
RÄ«gas satiksme is an enterprise of Riga municipality, established on 20.02.2003. In January 2005 four companies of Riga self government - SIA RÄ«gas satiksme, SIA Tramvaju un trolejbusu pÄrvalde, SIA RÄ«gas autostÄvvietas and SIA RÄ«gas domes autobÄze merged together. Consequently, SIA RÄ«gas satiksme has become the largest municipal enterprise The company ensures passenger transportation by public transport (buses, trolleybuses and trams), offers various means of transport for rent as well as provides parking services in Riga city. The company employs about 6500 employees, including 2104 conductors, 1000 bus drivers, 308 tram drivers and 702 trolleybus drivers. The company is going to hire 100 new bus drivers.
