European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
The Polish police force is planning to recruit approximately 7,000 new officers in 2007. There are 103,000 full-time positions in the force and no less than 5,500 are presently vacant. The worst situation is in Warsaw, where the police has 680 vacancies, Upper Silesia (646 vacancies), and in Lower Silesia (517 vacancies). This is caused by a massive departure of police officers. Since the beginning of 2007, 1,200 police officers have quit their jobs at the force, citing low salary, sub-standard equipment and working conditions, rampant bureaucracy and organisational chaos.
