Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
One year after the partial privatisation of Slovak Power Stations by Italian Enel, the company will reduce its staff again. According to the information from the trade unions, around 1,000 employees will be redundant from the current staff consisting of 6,500 employees till the end of 2007. Cuts in employment are caused by the reduction of administrative staff in the company as well as by the reduction of production in some coal power stations in Slovakia, which are corresponding to the implementation of EU environmental standards concerning the air pollution. Beside the black coal power station in Vojany the reduction will concern also the brown coal power station in Nováky.
