Description

The South Korean company, Samsung decided to open up its new factory in Slovakia in Voderady near Trnava, where Japanese Sony operates. Modern LCD screens will be produced there. The factory is planned to be built by the end of 2010 and the investment will reach the amount of 400 million Euro. Around 1,200 new jobs will be created in the new factory. Additionaly around 4,500 new jobs are to be created by the subcontracted supplier companies. The employment in Trnava region is expanding very quickly and the current unemployment rate is 4.2%. A new factory of the French PSA Citroën-Peugeot automotive company started recently to operate in the region.
