Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
American Seisa Medical Company will extend its business in Europe. Its regional division Seisa Europe will establish its first European subsidiary in Slovakia. Special surgical implants will be produced in the new production plant, which is located in industrial park Javorina in Myjava. According to local municipality representative Marek Hrin, the production would start in autumn 2007 and it will be exported to Denmark, Ireland and Spain. In the first stage of the investment, the company will spend around 2 million euro by the end of February 2008. In total around 500 new jobs will be created. Around 150 persons will work there by the end of 2007. Because the technology demands special skills from the employees, the majority of them will probably be women.
