Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The French Ministry of Industry announced on 7 February 2007 that the new Arcelor-Mittal group, the steel giant, will create 2,000 jobs between June 2007 and December 2008 in France. Back in 2006, Arcelor already discussed its support to job creation initiatives in six factories of the group in towns where industrial employment was declining before the Arcelor-Mittal merger. The six towns where the jobs are going the created are Oyonnax (Ain), Annonay (Ardèche), Vallée de la Meuse (Ardennes), Aube, Romorantin (Loir et Cher) and Fumel (Lot et Garonne).
