The electrical component producer Eljo is going to close down its unit in Båstad and to cut 132 jobs, as it was announced on 22 January 2007. 'The decision has been taken after auditing of the production units and the logistics flows', said Schneider Electric, owner of the company. The activities will be transferred to other plants located in Nordic countries. 'The Swedish trademark and its products, which are produced on several plants, will remain and will be further developed', stated Björn Forsberg, spokesman of the company.
