Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Swedwood, furniture manufacturer, continues to expand its business in Slovakia. Besides its five production units already operating in the country, company management decided to build another plant in Northern Slovakia in Krásno nad Kysucou. Swedwood will invest around SKK 525 million in order to reconstruct the existing sawmill and produce wood elements for Swedwood factory in Závažná Poruba. In the second stage of the investment project wooden elements for the furniture industry and in the third stage furniture elements itself will be produced there. In total, around 300 employees would find their job there. The production is planned to start in July-August 2007. Local secondary vocational school of the wood industry will educate and train managers and craftsmen for all Swedwood production units operating in Slovakia.
