Description
The French State announced on 9 January 2007 that it decided to cut 5,000 jobs among teachers in secondary schools. The measure will take effect from September 2007 onwards and the cuts will happen across all regions of the country. This decision responds to a reduction in the number of pupils.
At the same time, the Ministry for National Education and Culture decided that 500 new jobs of teachers of different qualification will be created in primary schools in order to replace current teachers who will retire in the second half of 2007.
