Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic plans to build a high-tech Biotechnology centre aimed at the activities in the fields of biotechnology, molecular biology, genome research, tissue and protein engineering, neurobiology and immunology. The centre will be located in Vestec near the Prague capital city on an area of 55,000 square metres at the cost of EUR 77 million. Exclusive laboratories spreading on 8,000 square metres will offer technical and research related jobs to 400 persons and 150-200 new and recent graduates. There is also an intention to provide future employees with social infrastructure facilities like housing, nursery school etc. The centre is to be opened in 2010 or 2011 and is expected to join similar research projects at the European level.
