Description
The Minister of Health announced on 7 December 2006 that the hospitals, medical and medico-social establishments (houses for pensioners and houses for handicapped people) will have to recruit 30,000 additional contract workers in 2007. 20,000 of them will be hired as early as January and February.
According to a circular of the Ministries of Labour and Health issued on 7 December 2006, the jobs are to be based on special contracts, reserved for recipients of social minimum income and for those under contracts in support of employment (CAE).
In France hospitals are facing a workforce shortage because there are not enough medicine students at universities.
