The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Telekomunikacja Polska, the national telecommunications operator, has signed agreements with the trade unions, providing for voluntary redundancies of up to 5,700 employees over the coming three years. Telekomunikacja Polska currently employs 27,400 people. The redundancies are motivated by the need to reduce cost of telecommunications services in order to be able to compete with new entrants in the market.
