Description
On 08 December 2006, Biria, a manufacturer of bicycles, announced to close its production site in Neukirch. Some 220 employees are affected by the closure which shall be completed by the end of 2006. The CEO of the Biria group declared that the US-American owner of the production site Lone Star decided to close the site due to the delicate business situation. The management announced to consider the setting up of a social plan that will specify the conditions for the closing down of the site and the job losses.
