Description

Eesti Energia is a state-owned company engaged in the production, sale and transmission of electric and thermal power. The company is also involved in the construction and maintenance of energy systems. Eesti Energia has 13 subsidiaries and four business units. In the financial year 2005/2006 the company employed an average of 8,983 people. The main raw material for energy production – oil shale – is extracted from mines owned by the company in Ida-Virumaa. The main office of Eesti Energia is situated in Tallinn. In order to improve its distribution network before losing monopoly rights in 2013, the company is planning a culmination of investments for years 2008-2010. For that period Eesti Energia will need additional 100-150 electricians. There are not enough skilled workers in Estonia, thus the company sees Belarus, Ukraine and Poland as main donor states of potential employees.
