European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
The automobile equipment supplier Wagon Automotive announced on 1 December 2006 that 581 jobs will be cut between December 2006 and March 2007 in France. Wagon Automotive France currently employs 948 people in France. The factory of Champigny (Yonne) will be closed, with the loss of all 205 jobs. Moreover, the group has decided to cut 118 jobs in Douai (Nord), 20 jobs in Fontaine (Territoire de Belfort), 134 jobs in Saint Florent (Cher) and 104 jobs in Saint Pierre de Varengeville (Calvados). In parallel, the group will continue its internal restructuring programme to increase its competiviness in Europe. In this sense, it is planning investments of more than 50 million euro, including 28 million in France between December and the end of March 2007. On 5 July 2007 the factory of Champigny (Yonne) will close with the loss of 192 jobs.
