Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Bučina company in Zvolen, which celebrated the 60-year anniversary of its establishment in 2006, will be closed soon. Bučina was one of the biggest employers in the region. According to the representative of the local employment office, mass dismissal has already started in the company and from 27 November 2006 to 31 January 2007 in total 187 employees will be dismissed there. Only 37 employees will work in the company from February 2007. Production of veneer wood sheets will be relocated to Bučina DDD Company, which is a part of Austrian multinational Kronospan Company.
