Description
The management of Kraft Foods Belgium announced on Tuesday 21 November 2006 its intention to close its plant located at Jupille. The plant, which specialises in the production of coffee, will be closed in April 2007. The closure will involve the loss of all 93 jobs.
The management explains this closure by lower coffee consumption in Europe. Coffee pads are the only product that are not in decline in the coffee market. However, the Jupille plant does not deal with this activity. Within the following months, a redundancy plan will be negotiated.
