Description

On 13 November 2006, SAS, a US-American software company, announced the closure of its headquarter for Europe, Africa and the Middle East as part of its internal restructuring strategy. Therefore, the 240 employees working at the European headquarter in Heidelberg will be made redundant. The measurement shall take effect by the end of March 2007.

SAS also stated that the company wants to support the affected employees with a special job-programme. The programme shall enable the 240 employees to find a new job within or outside the company easily. SAS employs a workforce of 730 persons in Germany.
