Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The brick factory Terra 2000 has started a general reconstruction and innovation of the equipment. The modernisation process is expected to be completed within 18 months. The BGN 18 million project will be mainly funded from European structural funds, supporting introduction of technologies without poison emulsions. The new equipment will also ensure better working conditions for the workers and introduction of the European standards, the management says. At the same time, the number of the workers will be decreased to 30. Now there are 160 people working in the production. The capacity of the factory will rise 3.5 times. The ambition of the management is to create a close circle of production. In addition, a programme for vocational training of the personnel is being developed.
