Description
Town Council of Bielsko-Biała wants to liquidate the ZEC Bielsko-Biała power plant, because it is old, pollutes the environment and the machines working there can be legally used only until 2010. The plant has no resources to finance modernisation, which would cost some PLN 40 million. In addition, there is another combined heat and power plant nearby in Czechowice- Dziedzice, which has been modernised and can supply energy to the town of Bielsko-Biała. The closure of ZEC Bielsko-Biała's plant will result in 200 dismissals.
