Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Balkan Sast, the local subsidiary of the Czech supplier of transportation, information, automation and signalling equipment for the railway industry AŽD Praha, opened the 3 million euro train and subway safety system factory in Sofia. The 6,000 square metre plant employs currently 50 people. The workforce will be increased to 80 by the end of 2006 and is expected to reach 180 in 2007. The plant is to manufacture railway signalling and crossing systems, traffic management systems as well as train and subway station management systems.
