Description

The new Electronics Research and Development Centre of Johnson Controls Electronics Bulgaria, the local unit of U.S. automotive systems maker Johnson Controls, has an ambitious goal of becoming the biggest technological base of the parent company, said Rosen Filipov, head of the local unit at the opening ceremony of the new centre's building on Thursday, October 12. The U.S. company's biggest centre overseas with 550 staff is currently located in France. The Sofia unit of the company employs 320 people and is recruiting another 150 specialists now. The research and development centre in Sofia has been operating for 5 years. According to Thomas Patzelt, vice president and general manager of interior electronics, the company has invested some 5 million euro in the centre so far (personnel costs are not included).
