Description

Budget airline Ryanair is adding 10 new routes from Nottingham East Midlands Airport (NEMA), creating 150 jobs. From February passengers will be able to fly to three new destinations in Spain, two in Italy, Poland, Slovakia, Sardinia, Scotland and Ireland. The new destinations are Alghero (Sardinia), Bratislava, Knock, Milan, Valencia, Granada, Inverness, Krakow, Pisa and Santiago. NEMA managing director Penny Coates said she was delighted with Ryanair's announcement. 'The 27 routes they now offer have played an important part in assisting Nottingham East Midlands Airport in fulfilling its role as wealth generator for the region.' Richard Dickinson, chief executive of East Midlands Tourism, said the new routes were great news. 'Greater accessibility into the region is key if we are to continue to grow our share of the inbound market and attract more overseas visitors to our destinations, many of whom are looking for new places to visit in the UK,' he said.
